Dr. Sarah Chen Appointed to National AI Ethics Advisory Board

Cyrion Labs is proud to announce that Dr. Sarah Chen, Director of the AI Ethics Lab, has been appointed to the National AI Ethics Advisory Board. In this role, Dr. Chen will work with other experts from academia, industry, and civil society to develop policy recommendations for responsible AI development and deployment.

The National AI Ethics Advisory Board was established by the federal government to provide guidance on ethical considerations in AI development and use. The board's recommendations will inform policy decisions and regulatory frameworks for AI technologies across sectors.

"I'm honored to join the National AI Ethics Advisory Board and contribute to shaping policies that promote responsible AI development," said Dr. Chen. "As AI technologies become increasingly integrated into our society, it's crucial that we establish frameworks and guidelines that ensure these systems are fair, transparent, and aligned with human values."

Dr. Chen brings extensive expertise in AI ethics to the board. Her research focuses on developing frameworks for responsible AI deployment and addressing algorithmic bias in machine learning systems. She has published numerous papers on these topics in top-tier conferences such as FAccT, NeurIPS, and AAAI.

At Cyrion Labs, Dr. Chen leads the AI Ethics Lab, which conducts research on algorithmic fairness, transparency, accountability, and the societal impacts of AI technologies. The lab's work spans both theoretical research and practical applications, with a focus on developing tools and frameworks that can be used by researchers, developers, and organizations to ensure responsible AI development and deployment.

"Dr. Chen's appointment to the National AI Ethics Advisory Board is a testament to her leadership in the field of AI ethics," said Dr. Michael Rodriguez, CEO of Cyrion Labs. "Her expertise and perspective will be invaluable in shaping policies that promote innovation while ensuring that AI technologies benefit society as a whole."

The National AI Ethics Advisory Board will meet quarterly to discuss emerging ethical issues in AI and develop recommendations for addressing them. The board's first meeting is scheduled for May 2025.
